Akashachi (赤鯱) is the pirate captain of the Sodo no Shachi crew and the father of Shachi. Years ago, he had left his son on the shores of Shura. He led an invasion to try to get Shachi back but was driven out by a young Nameless Shura, costing Akashachi his right eye and leg.

Akashachi first meets Kenshiro while the latter is trying to cross the sea. After a brief fight, he explains the sad events of his life and eagerly awaits the day he can see his son again. When Kaioh is about to give Kenshiro capital punishment, Akashachi arrives to the rescue with his crew. He tries to grapple Kaioh with grappling hooks and fry him with sulfuric acid. However, the Shura General jumps into water to suppress the acid. As Akashachi and his crew lob harpoons at him, the Shura General shoots a crossbow arrow at Akashachi, mortally wounding him. Before dying, the pirate dies with a smile at having seen his son again.

Etymology

• Akashachi means "red" (赤) (aka) and "grampus, orc" (鯱) (shachi).
