Cao Anmin (onyomi: Sō Anmin) is a nephew of Cao Cao. During Cao Cao's brief stay at Wan Castle, he introduces him to the wife of the castle's former lord. This leads to Zhang Xiu's surprise attack, in which he fails to escape and is killed.

Role in GamesEdit

In the Dynasty Warriors series, Cao Anmin has made his only appearance in combat at Wan Castle. Even if the player clears the stage with him alive, there is usually no way to save Cao Anmin.

He accompanies Cao Cao in Dynasty Warriors 7 throughout the whole battle with Dian Wei and can be spoken to at the small party before the battle. He can be killed during the battle, but even if he is saved, he won't appear in future battles.

In Dynasty Warriors 8, saving his life is a requirement in preventing the death of Dian Wei. After some time at Wan Castle, Cao Cao will remark that his son and Cao Anmin are also in the castle and should be rescued as well. If the player gets to both of them soon enough and rescues them, Dian Wei will survive the battle if he is not defeated later.

  • "Hardly anybody is allowed inside the castle. Not even Xiahou Dun or Xu Zhu are here. Even uncle is without his weapon. I hope nothing bad happens..."
~~Cao Anmin; Dynasty Warriors 7

Historical InformationEdit

Cao Anmin was a nephew of Cao Cao. He accompanied his uncle on the Jing Province campaign in 197. During the Battle of Wancheng, he was killed along with Dian Wei and Cao Ang.

Romance of the Three KingdomsEdit

In the novel, Cao Anmin appears at Wan Castle as well. He tells Cao Cao about the beautiful widow of Zhang Xiu's uncle Zhang Ji. Cao Cao orders him to bring her to him, which Cao Anmin does. Later, he follows Cao Cao during his escape from Wan. When Cao Cao is wounded and his horse struck by arrows, Cao Anmin is killed by their pursuers.
