Cucco (コッコ Kokko), or Giant Cucco is a playable character from Hyrule Warriors. Cucco is a gigantic Cucco who appears as a playable character in the unlockable Cucco's Fury Challenge Mode, which appears as part of the Boss Pack DLC. Like most DLC characters, it has no role in the main story.
Role in Game[]
Much like the majority of the DLC characters, Cucco plays no major roles in the main story. However, it does appear in one character's moveset, that being Lana's Summoning Gate.
Gameplay[]
Moveset[]
Keys: | Y Normal Attack ▲ | X Charge Attack ▲ | A Special Technique ▲ | B Evade |
Unfortunatly, the Giant Cucco only has two basic attacks, as follows.
X: The Giant Cucco will flutter upwards before slamming down on enemies below. Bosses hit with this will be breifly knocked down, allowing follow-ups with his only other move;
Y, Y: The Giant Cucco will quickly peck on the ground, dealing quick damage. This can charge your Special Gauge somewhat quickly, should you be damaging enemies with every hit.
A: The Giant Cucco summons a flock of Cuccos to swarm the enemy directly in front of them. It has a massive range by virtue of being on a massive character.
Focus Spirit + A: The Giant Cucco flutters higher than normal before slamming down on the enemy. It's useful in finishing off weakened bosses.
Weak Point Smash: The Giant Cucco flies straight into the enemy, keeps going, then flies down from the sky back in front of the enemy.
Fighting Style[]
The Giant Cucco's fighting style is best described as simplified hit and run. Because of the Cucco's massive frame, it will constantly be taking hits, meaning you will go down very quickly if not played right. In addition to the fact that it has very limited moves, and by extension, options, it is important to capitalize on using both its Heavy Attack to knock enemies away, and using Special Attacks and Focus Spirit as a panic button. This is doubly true in Cucco's Fury, where it will battle Giant Bosses and generals alike. Bosses in particular truly threaten Giant Cucco, because of the fact that it has no access to any items to put them in position for a weak point smash. However, it does have the ability to slowly gain magic by attacking bosses, so using Special Attacks on multiple Giant Bosses to gain magic quickly is a valid option. Use Heavy attacks to knock enemies down, watch your flank, and use Focus Spirit whenever possible. This is the key to Giant Cucco.
