Dungeon (ダンジョン) is a role-playing game designed by Kou Shibusawa and Kazunari Uota.
Gameplay[]
The player is an adventurer who seeks to find the lost city of El Dorado in Zargos Island. Legends say that one of the dungeons located on the isle contains a door leading to the fabled city. To start the game, pick one of five different classes and adjust starting stats for stamina, strength, speed, dexterity, and charisma. Stat values can be re-rolled however the player likes.
Moving between different areas consumes food which in turn maintains stamina levels needed to survive. Should food run out, the protagonist will starve and eventually die. Exploration is divided into two sections: the overworld map and dungeons. The former is filled with various terrain which affect the amount of food eaten, though towns or castles can be visited to restock supplies. Dungeons, on the other hand, are completely maze-like and full of hidden traps.
When confronting an enemy, the player can either attack head on (A) or cast spells (C) to eliminate them. Attacks come in four different variations: chop (1), thrust (2), swing (3), and low slash (=). Monsters found in dungeons may drop items upon their defeat. They also become stronger as the player levels up, so caution is advised when grinding for experience.
