The Battle of Hyrule Field is an early conflict between the Hylian army and the forces under the command of Cia or Calamity Ganon, depending on the game. The first field is uniquely made for the game, while the one in Age of Calamity is the same from Breath of the Wild, except not yet destroyed by Calamity Ganon's return.
Role in Games[]
Hyrule Warriors opens with monster forces attacking Hyrule castle from Hyrule field. The rookie soldier Link proves quite adept at defeating the invading monsters. Impa takes note of his success and assigns him the task of pushing north and helping their Goron allies. He especially proves his skill when he drives off Volga by awakening the Triforce of Courage. Once he helps them, Impa and Link move to rendezvous with Zelda, who has engaged the forces at the center of the field and risks getting overrun.
Once the heroes are united, Zelda leads an effort to make an appeal to a nearby Great Fairy for help against the overwhelming number of foes. The princess makes her plea and the fairy obliges, dropping a massive bomb, magically enlarged, onto the northern forces. With the immediate threat seemingly neutralized, Impa implores Zelda to move south, back to the safety of Hyrule Castle.
Impa leads the Hylian soldiers in a mopping up maneuver when Wizzro plays his trump card. The cursed wizard brings in King Dodongo down from the northern mountains. The monster wrecks havoc until Link and Impa are finally able to subdue it. With the boss defeated, the rest of the monsters break and flee, convincing Impa of their victory. However, it is revealed afterwards that Wizzro used the distraction of King Dodongo to seemingly kidnap Zelda.
In Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity Hyrule field once more sees hordes of monsters attack, with a newly recruited Link fighting among the Hylian army. After fighting off the vanguard, the Hyrule forces break the initial bokoblin forces. As Link makes his way southwest, he encountered a strange, small guardian that springs to life and begins following him around. At the same time, Link meets up with Impa fleeing more of Calamity Ganon's forces. The guardian responds to the Sheikah slate that Impa is carrying and triggers one of the Sheikah Towers to rise, which in turn defeats the surrounding Bokoblins.
Princess Zelda takes to the field to face the second wave of Bokoblins and Moblins. As that new assault is defeated, Link and Impa push into the bases of the Calamity forces, securing them for the Hylian army. With these garrisons secured, the Hylians make a final push and defeat the remaining Moblins, causing the army to break and flee.
Korok Seeds[]

Map of where every Korok Seed can be found
Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity has hidden Koroks to be found across the battlefield. They hide in different, simple interactive points, paying homage to Breath of the Wild's own small challenges to collect the seeds. Hyrule Field has seven seeds to be found.
- North of the first outpost captured, inside an isolated box.
- South of the first outpost captured, just to the west of the south exit of the outpost. The Korok is hiding in a flower.
- South of the stone gate that sits at the center-east entrance into the main section of Hyrule Field. Activate a tree stump with a leaf symbol stamped on it.
- On the center path towards the ranch, right before the ranch. The Korok is hiding in a flower
- At the center of the ranch's horse pin. A balloon with a target needs to be popped. It can be broken with just a normal attack.
- Against the stone wall in the center, right before entering the second lowest section of the map. Hiding in a flower.
- Halfway across the wooden bridge that connects the second most south section to the most southern section of the map. A pinwheel needs to be activated for the Korok to appear.
Origins[]
Hyrule Field in Hyrule Warriors is an original map, but one based upon the many incarnations of Hyrule Field throughout the Legend of Zelda series. The layout vaguely resembles the most common layout for Hyrule Field. It has a large open field, with a portion slightly closed off close to Hyrule Castle, mountains to the north, a river that cuts through it from north to south.
Age of Calamity draws its inspiration directly from Breath of the Wild The field very closely resembles the one that can be found 100 years later in the original game. The unnamed ranch that closely resembles Lan Lan Ranch stands to the south and east, with Mabe Town right to the west of the Ranch. The Hyrule garrison also appears to the southwest, south of Passari Greenbelt, which makes up the west of the stage. All of these locations are in their prime, not reduced to rubble as they are found in BotW.
