Role in Games[]
Originally members of the Shiekah before they splintered off,the Yiga allied themselves with Calamity Ganon due to the persecution their ancestors suffered at the hands of the Hyruleans. In the original timeline, Kohga served as an opposition to Link after he was revived from suspended animation in a series of battles that end terribly for him.
In the timeline created when Terrako traveled back in time, Kohga and his forces become more active as the former disguised himself as Urbosa to turn the Gerudo against Zelda's party against one another. But the real Urbosa returns and exposed Kohga as he is spirited to safety by his bodyguard Sooga following an intense battle that drive the Yiga back, with the Yiga later approached by the sorcerer Astor for an alliance built on reviving Ganon. A series of battles occurred soon after that escalated with Kohga and Sooga force to retreat when the Yiga Clan hideout is invaded by the Hyrulean army. Kohga and Sooga confront Astor over him not offering a hand in the situation but are talked out of harming him as they would lose Ganon’s favor.
When the Calamity arrives, Astor decides to sacrifice his Yiga allies to revive the defeated Blight Ganons after they were prevented from killing the Champions. This horrified Kohga as Sooga sacrifices himself so he and the other Yiga clansmen can escape. After Zelda had awoken her true power, Kohga approaches her in guise of a Hylian officer and silently offers his services to her to avenge his kin as he and the Yiga participate in the final battle soon after.
