Munekatsu Nomi is a retainer of the Mōri clan. He is commander of the Mōri navy and chief retainer of Takakage. Though he was charged with policing the seas, he is releated by marriage to the Murakami pirate gang from Setouchi. He used his connection to secure victory against Harukata Sue at Itsukushima.

Role in Games[]

For his first appearance in Samurai Warriors 2, he mainly appears at Osaka Bay as reinforcements for the outnumbered Honganji sects. In the expansion, Munekatsu is among the Mōri reinforcements at Shikoku for the Chosokabe.

In Samurai Warriors 3, Munekatsu can be seen during the Chugoku Invasion. In the expansion, as Gracia gets the Saika troops to the escape point, Nomi will try to stop her. On Yoshimoto's third story stage, Yoshimoto must take out Munekatsu with more than 150 troops killed in order to get a special weapon. For Motonari's side of Kizugawa, after Mitsuhide is defeated, Munekatsu can appear.

In Samurai Warriors Chronicles, Munekatsu and Takeyoshi Murakami will attempt a fireball attack on the player at Kizugawa. He may also be seen at Itsukushima.

In Samurai Warriors 4, at Takamatsu Castle, Munekatsu and Magobei Oda will launch a pincer attack at the forces of Kanbei. During the invasion of Iyo, Motochika's forces must cut through him and Motozumi Katsura to breakthrough the Eastern checkpoint. On the Shikoku invasion, he will reinforce the Toyotomi in their campaign. He will also serve as part of the enemy reinforcements during Kanbei and Hanbei's Test of Wits.. In Samurai Warriors 4-II, Hanbei and his party will be given a mission to take out Masamoto Kodera and Munekatsu at Arioka.

In Kessen III, Munekatsu follows the Mōri at Kizugawaguchi.

He serves as one of the Mōri's officers in Mouri Motonari: Chikai no Sanshi.
