The Mystic Realm is a place where many immortal figures from the Warriors Orochi series reside in and watch over the universe for any potential threats. Many of them are shown to be unanimously good, although extremists like Susano'o are also present. In the past, this realm was led under the guise of the Heavenly Emperor, though after the appearance of Orochi, it is unknown if there is a new leading figure within the mystics or if they are now a united front. There are a few battlefields which take place here and are established to have continuity with the story of Warriors Orochi 3 Ultimate.

Role in Games[]

In Dynasty Warriors: Online, players have the opportunity to visit the mystic realm via Kunlun Mountains. There, they can meet Fu Xi and Nuwa who can give them quests to earn materials for their respective costumes.

While the mystics themselves do not appear in the first Warriors Orochi game, Orochi's Story Mode reveals that they initially sought to subjugate the Serpent King himself before being pushed back. After recovering for some time, the three mystics, Taigong Wang, Fu Xi, and Nu Wa, went their separate ways in order to aid the various human factions clashing with the remnants of the Orochi forces.

One dream stage for the PSP port of Warriors Orochi 2 establishes that the mystics were alerted of Orochi's awakening and failed to stop his escape thanks to Da Ji.

Warriors Orochi 3 portrays them as a more organised faction, with the leader of their operations being the fairly hostile Susano'o. Other mystics who are more helpful to humanity include Kaguya and Shennong, with Kaguya's time traveling abilities being crucial to reversing the damage done to the dimensional and mystic realms.

Chronologically, Warriors Orochi 3 Ultimate goes the furthest back in time where Fu Xi finds the celebrated general Yinglong defending a large outpost against wild demons. He recalls not seeing Yinglong for a long time, and wonders where he may have been in the present day. Upon visiting the Heavenly Emperor, however, he discovers that Yinglong had been deceived by Tamamo to break the Divine Mirror, causing the dark energies it entrapped to turn him into the being now known as Orochi. Having learned this awful truth, he and the Coalition partially change the past to save the Heavenly Emperor so he could repair the Divine Mirror for them to seal Tamamo once more. It's also revealed that Sun Wukong and Seimei Abe had helped seal Tamamo away, by pretending to work with her against the mystics to lure her to a cave where her powers would be appropriately restricted.

In Warriors Orochi 4, all of them including Susano'o are far friendlier to humans than previously, having learned their potential in the fight against Orochi. However, though they serve as allies to the humans, they avoid getting too involved in the wars due to not wanting to start hostility with Zeus and the Olympians, who created the new realm, without a justifiable reason. Yang Jian is the lone exception to this however, generally content to ignore the proceedings of humanity and the previous conflicts until he discovers Sun Wukong causing trouble in the new realm and feels obliged to stop him.
