Koei Wiki

Other historical/mythological figure portrayals different from Koei's[]

Zhu Bajie/Cho Hakkai (Gensoumaden Saiyuuki)
  • Apparently, this one was born from mangaka Kazuya Minekura jokingly stating that her portrayal of Bajie/Hakkai "was voiced by Akira Ishida" during one interview portion of one of the manga chapters. It eventually became true upon the release of the original OVA, where Ishida still reprises Bajie/Hakkai when the original anime aired.
    • This also was tied into Ishida possibly not enjoying character songs anymore, due to a Bajie/Hakkai character song he received criticism on.
Hanbeh Takenaka (Sengoku Basara)
  • If I'm not mistaken, Basara's Hanbeh was revealed before Musou's Hanbeh.
Sasuke Sarutobi (Samurai Deeper Kyou)
  • This one is an example of one of his younger-sounding voices. Like with Koei's Nobunaga, he too wields a Muramasa sword.
